Binkie Update

Okay I know you are all dying from curiosity about how we are doing regarding the whole binkie thing.  No?  Well anyway, it has been exactly two weeks and we are not having fun.  We took it away and he doesn't seem to miss it except for naps or bedtime, because basically we have replaced it with the bottle.  And that's not good either, because he doesn't always need a bottle.  In the long run I know it is a good idea, in the short run I have mixed feelings, especially after I have spent 45 minutes trying to calm a screaming child because I dared to put him down for a nap.  Papa got me a pair of ear plugs, and I have used them, thank you very much.  He does suck on his fingers, but no more than he did before.  All babies do.  If he is upset and I try to encourage him to soothe himself with them, it only makes him madder.  What to do, what to do?  (Sigh)

Persevere we shall, and persevere we must!

Enough with that.

Happy St. Paddy's day!

Are you wearing green?  Not me, am I a non-conformist or did I just forget, you decide.  When my sister asked if I was wearing green I asked her if the booger wiped on my sleeve by my son counted, she said no.

And in honor of St. Patrick's day here's your pot of gold.

So, I totally forgot about St. Patricks day until halfway through the day, so needless to say, we didn't wear any green. I did make a mint chocolate cheesecake though. It was green. As for the paci issue, I'm pro paci so I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear anything I have to say. ☺ I was always annoyed that Ella refused it.
Can you believe that picture of HT is already 2 years old?? crazy! So cute.

Ha! Love that picture. I still don't think the binkie will hurt anything at this age but can be very comforting - at least that's what our pediatrician told me and I believed it...Sam used it until around 15 - 18 months and then we only allowed it for bedtime and naps. Either way, you will not hurt him - you just do what your mom's instinct tells you is right. Happy St Patrick's day! I did wear green. Ha!
